Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 9, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Lawyers — VA Mesothelioma Claims, Appeals & Representation Guide (lawyers.lyricalguy.com) handles information when you read our plain-English guides to VA claims, decision reviews, appeals, and accredited representation for veterans and families affected by mesothelioma and asbestos exposure. We are an independent editorial project. We are not a law firm, we are not attorneys, and we do not collect claim details in order to sell or refer them to anyone.

The short version

  • There are no accounts, logins, or registrations on this site.
  • We do not ask you to submit your VA file number, diagnosis, service dates, or claim documents, and we ask that you never email them to us.
  • We do not sell personal information, and we do not sell or broker leads to law firms, claims-services companies, or treatment centers.
  • The site is supported by Google AdSense display advertising, which uses cookies. You can opt out of personalized ads using the links below.

Information we collect

Information you send us

If you email support@lawyers.lyricalguy.com — to report an error, ask about accessibility, send a privacy request, or file a DMCA notice — we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We keep that correspondence only as long as needed to handle it and to keep a record of corrections made to our articles. Please do not send medical records, claim numbers, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive personal information; we cannot act on them and do not want to hold them.

Server logs

Like nearly all websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs: IP address, browser and device user agent, referring page, the pages requested, and the date and time of the request. These logs are used for security, spam and abuse prevention, and diagnosing technical problems. They are retained for a limited period and then overwritten or deleted.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files placed on your device. This site uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies (for example, caching and basic site function) and cookies set by our advertising and, where enabled, analytics partners. Full detail is in our Cookie Policy.

Advertising and Google’s use of cookies

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website and other websites.

Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of participating vendors’ interest-based advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices. To understand how Google uses data when you use sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Third-party ad networks and exchanges may also place cookies through the ad slots on our pages. We do not control those cookies and cannot read the data they collect. A list of Google certified ad networks and their opt-out options is available through the tools at aboutads.info. Opting out stops personalization; you will still see ads, they will simply be less relevant.

Consent

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with equivalent rules, personalized advertising and non-essential cookies are served only in line with the consent choice you make when the consent notice appears, and you can change that choice at any time. Readers outside those regions can still opt out of personalized advertising using the links above or by managing cookies in their browser.

How we use information

We use the limited information described above to deliver and secure the site, to answer messages you send us, to correct and improve our articles, and to support the advertising that funds our free content. We do not build reader profiles, we do not target readers based on a suspected diagnosis, and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors.

Your rights

You may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email support@lawyers.lyricalguy.com and describe your request; we respond within a few business days. If you are in the EEA or UK, the General Data Protection Regulation gives you rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and portability, and a right to complain to your national supervisory authority. Our legal bases are legitimate interests (site security, basic analytics, answering correspondence) and consent (personalized advertising and non-essential cookies).

If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion, and a right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in exchange for money. Use the same support email to make a request.

Children

This site is written for adult veterans, spouses, caregivers, and survivors. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

Analytics, security, and external links

We may use server-side statistics or a standard analytics tool to see which guides are read and where readers get stuck. Any such data is used in aggregate. The site is served over HTTPS, and we take reasonable technical measures to protect the limited data we hold — though no site can promise perfect security.

Our articles link out to official sources such as VA.gov, benefits.va.gov, the eCFR, cancer.gov, and ssa.gov, and to reputable medical organizations. Once you follow a link you are on someone else’s site, governed by their privacy practices, not ours.

Changes and contact

We will update this policy when our practices or our advertising partners’ requirements change, and we will move the effective date at the top when we do. Questions about privacy go to support@lawyers.lyricalguy.com. See also our Cookie Policy, Advertising Disclosure, and Terms and Conditions.
