This page explains, in plain English, how lawyers.lyricalguy.com makes money and what that does — and does not — mean for what you read here. We publish education-only guides to VA claims, decision reviews, appeals, and accredited representation for veterans and families affected by mesothelioma and asbestos exposure, and we think you are entitled to know exactly who is paying for them.
We are not a law firm
Our domain contains the word “lawyers” because we write about the law that governs VA claims and about how representation works. We are an independent editorial project, not a law firm. Nobody here is an attorney or a VA-accredited representative. We give no legal advice, we take no cases, we do not evaluate claims, and we refer no reader to any particular firm, claims agent, or service. That distinction matters most on this exact topic, because so much of what ranks for asbestos and mesothelioma searches is advertising dressed as advice.
How this site is funded
Our only revenue is Google AdSense display advertising. Google places ads in defined slots on our pages. Those ads are served and labeled by the ad network, are visually distinct from our writing, and are never woven into the body of an article or styled to look like our editorial recommendations. If you cannot tell whether something is an ad or our content, that is a bug — tell us at support@lawyers.lyricalguy.com and we will fix it.
Which ads appear is decided by Google’s systems, not chosen by us. We do not hand-pick advertisers and we generally cannot see in advance who will be shown to you. How advertising cookies work, and how to opt out of personalized ads, is covered in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
What we do not accept
- No payment from law firms. We do not take money, retainers, sponsorships, or “content partnerships” from law firms, attorneys, or VA claims agents.
- No payment from claims-services companies, so-called claim consultants, or “nexus letter” vendors.
- No payment from treatment centers, clinics, insurers, or drug companies.
- No lead selling. We do not collect, broker, or sell reader information as leads. There is no case-evaluation form, no callback request, and no phone capture anywhere on this site.
- No affiliate links. We currently have no affiliate relationships and earn no commission when you visit an external site.
- No sponsored posts or paid placements. No one can buy an article, a mention, a link, or a position in a list here.
If any of that ever changes, we will say so on this page before it goes live, and we will label the specific content clearly as “Sponsored” or “Advertisement” in line with the FTC’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising, 16 CFR Part 255. A label buried in a footer is not a label; ours would sit at the top of the piece.
Advertising does not touch editorial
Advertisers have no say in what we cover, how we frame it, what we conclude, or which official sources we cite. No advertiser sees an article before publication, and no advertiser can request a change, a removal, or a softer tone afterwards. Our topic choices come from what readers are actually confused about — appeal deadlines, what a Higher-Level Review can and cannot do, how representation fees are regulated, how VA benefits interact with other programs — not from what pays best per click.
Our sourcing and correction standards are set out in our Editorial Policy, which also lists the things we refuse to publish: lead-generation funnels, “free case evaluation” solicitations, settlement-value predictions, and fear-based content.
Our income does not depend on your decisions
This is worth stating directly, because in this niche it is unusual. We earn nothing if you hire an attorney and nothing if you do not. We earn nothing if you file an appeal, nothing if you accept a rating, and nothing if you work with a Veterans Service Officer instead of a paid representative. We are not compensated for any outcome, in either direction. Ad revenue simply supports free educational content that anyone can read without an account, a paywall, or a form.
That independence is also why we never promise results. Every VA claim turns on individual facts and evidence, and no honest writer — and no honest advertisement — can tell you in advance how yours will end.
Where to go for real help
Because we cannot advise you, our guides consistently point readers toward VA-accredited attorneys, accredited claims agents, and Veterans Service Officers at organizations such as the VFW, DAV, and the American Legion, and toward official information at VA.gov. We name categories of help, not companies, and we receive nothing for those mentions.
